چکیده
Sustainable nutrient and water management are critical for optimizing the quality subsequent landscape performance of nursery plants. In this 2-year study, we investigated influence different nitrogen (N) rates [N-free fertilizer (0 N) or N-free plus 7 (0.5 14 (1.0 mg N per day from NH4NO3] irrigation frequencies volumes [once daily to 50% 100% container capacity (CC) twice with same total amount as CC] on plant growth, flowering, uptake three rhododendron cultivars, including one deciduous cultivar, Rhododendron ‘Gibraltar’ two evergreen ‘P.J.M.’ ‘Catawbiense Album’. each case, plants were grown in soilless media year 1 transplanted soil 2. Increasing rate increased biomass content both years improved flowering following year. Furthermore, 1, once CC enhanced several nutrients cultivar growth cultivars. Plants that irrigated more frequently during performed better year, while those only cultivar. lower volume altered qualities, resulting a trade-off between flower production Our results indicate manipulating frequency can be used alter stock qualities improve landscape.

متن کاملGrowth and Flowering Responses of Cut Chrysanthemum Grown under Restricted Root Volume to Irrigation Frequency
Influences of irrigation frequency on the growth and flowering of chrysanthemum grown under restricted root volume were tested. Chrysanthemum cuttings (Chrysanthemum morifolium "Reagan White") were grown in seedling tray which contained coconut peat in volumes of 73 and 140 cm(3). Plants were irrigated with drip irrigation at irrigation frequencies of 4 (266 mL), 6 (400 mL), and 8 (533 mL) time...

Nitrogen (N) uptake (kg ha-1) of field-grown potatoes was measured in 4.32 m2 lysimeters that were filled with coarse sand, loamy sand, and sandy loam and subjected to full (FI), deficit (DI), and partial root-zone drying (PRD) irrigation strategies. PRD and DI as water-saving irrigation treatments received 65% of FI after tuber bulking and lasted for six weeks until final harvest. Results show...
متن کاملInfluence of Paclobutrazol on Growth and Flowering of Rhododendron ‘Sir
Shoot extension of Rhododendron ‘Sir Robert Peel’ was reduced, but flowering was more precocious after treatment of plants with paclobutrazol. All of the drench rates tested (0.05 to 0.4 g a.i./pot) proved excessive and resulted in prolonged shoot growth reduction but greatly increased the number of flowers. However, flowers produced at the higher drench rates were grossly malformed and unaccep...
